Delve behind the scenes of Entura’s projects and people

2 March, 2026

As a power and water consulting business, Entura is never short of great stories to tell.

Over the past 2 years, we have released 17 episodes in our ‘Behind the Scenes’ podcast series and just recently released the first episode in the exciting new podcast series ‘The Entura Effect’.

Each podcast is about half an hour long – and you can find them all on Entura’s website and via YouTube.

With a focus on authentic storytelling, technical depth and professional journeys, the podcasts form a rich showcase of our multi-disciplinary teams and the transformative projects we deliver across Australia, the Pacific, South Asia and beyond.

“The idea of launching our first podcast series was to celebrate the incredibly talented and diverse people who work across our business in Tasmania, Melbourne, South Australia and India – and to hear more about who they are, how they’ve come to work with us, and what drives them in their projects and their lives outside work,” says Mark Richardson, host of the ‘Behind the Scenes’ podcast series, and Entura’s Director, Strategy, Sales and Commercial.

“We know that our passion for making a better future and our down-to-earth character and culture are qualities that both our clients and our potential new employees really value, so we’re delighted to be able to offer a window into Entura. The podcasts are also great for building strong collegial relationships across our many teams.”

The most recent podcast features Dr Andrew Wright, Entura’s Senior Principal Renewables and Energy Storage. He describes his journey from working on aircraft engine aerodynamics in the United States to designing some of Australia’s early wind farms, solar farms, off-grid hybrid renewable energy systems and large battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Other episodes profile professionals such as Rajeev Raina, who discusses leadership and cross-border collaboration in one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets, and Faisal Shahid, whose journey from participating in training with Entura’s Clean Energy and Water Institute led to project leadership in Australia. Flavio Campos, who joined Entura from Brazil and Canada, and Jamie Cowan, whose career began in Scotland, add to these vibrant stories from around the world.

From Entura’s home base in Tasmania, civil engineers Sally Fracalossi, Sammy Gibbs and Kate Hammerton and electrical engineer Gaby Tregurtha talk to another side of what remains a male-dominated engineering profession in Australia.

“We hope that sharing the stories of these wonderful engineers will inspire and encourage girls and women in their STEM pathways and career journeys,” says Dr Amanda Ashworth, Entura’s Managing Director and powerful advocate for women in the business.

The new podcast series, ‘The Entura Effect’, delves deeper into some of our high-impact projects from a technical perspective. The inaugural episode features Entura’s role as Lender’s Engineer on the recently completed Kutehr hydropower project, highlighting how technical rigour and specialist skills underpin successful delivery in challenging environments.

“It’s a pleasure to host The Entura Effect series,” says Donald Vaughan, Entura’s Technical Director, Power. “We hope our audience will come away from these podcasts with new technical insights as well as an appreciation of the blend of innovation, sustainability and multidisciplinary problem solving that Entura brings to every project.”

As well as podcasts, our people share their expertise and professional insights in thought leadership articles, which now number over 150 articles published over the last decade. You can also read more about Entura’s projects in our project case studies.
