Water
Hydrography and instrumentation
Entura’s hydrography and instrumentation team designs, creates, deploys and operates safe and sustainable water, power and environmental data measuring & acquisition solutions to make a positive and enduring contribution to our clients and communities.
Measuring, collecting and analysing data can be complicated, but with the right expertise, a fit-for-purpose solution is just waiting to be uncovered.
Our team is made up of experienced hydrographers, electricians, instrumentation and communication technicians, mechatronic engineers and professional consultants, drawing on our diverse expertise to provide an end-to-end service offering.
We proudly offer more than consultation. We ideate, design, build and prototype environmental monitoring equipment and digital application solutions (including custom innovations) in house. We have developed many templates for monitoring panel assemblies, data sampling and telemetry logic, as well as digital applications. This enables us to offer solutions with greater reliability, and simpler, quicker deployment time – saving time and money.
We understand that the integrity of data starts at the source. Site selection, instrumentation choice, installation methodology, along with a genuine understanding of a client’s needs are paramount in collecting and delivering quality data. We understand that our clients have budget and resource capability constraints, so we will work with you to uncover these constraints to find the most appropriate solution.
Due to our unique asset-owner heritage, we have been providing integrated data collection services for decades, managing Hydro Tasmania’s extensive water management and power network. We’ve helped clients develop innovative technologies (dataloggers and even remote monitoring solutions manoeuvrable using helicopters) and data management solutions to maximise data surety, data integrity and operational insights.
The team works across all disciplines at Entura, including hydropower, hydraulic & hydrology, hybrid renewables, spatial, GIS and data services, as well as environmental planning, approvals and management.
