Entura continues collaboration on clean energy and training at Australia–India CEO Forum

Entura Director Dr Amanda Ashworth (above, left) recently joined senior business leaders from Australia and India at the Australia–India CEO Forum in Melbourne, reinforcing Entura’s commitment to collaboration to progress the clean energy transition and develop the future workforce.
Held during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s July visit to Australia, the Forum brought together business leaders alongside Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Prime Minister Modi to discuss opportunities to deepen trade, investment and cooperation between the two countries. The Forum concluded with a Joint Communique highlighting shared priorities, including accelerating renewable energy development and building skills and capacity.
“It was a privilege to join other leaders as part of Prime Minister Modi’s visit and contribute to discussions about strengthening the relationship between our countries,” said Dr Ashworth.
“Entura has been pleased to be involved in this important Forum over a number of years and is a member of the Forum’s Energy, Resources, Net Zero and Critical Minerals Joint Working Group.”
In 2024, the Forum launched the India–Australia Renewable Energy Partnership (REP), elevating bilateral climate and energy cooperation and emphasising the importance of renewable energy investment. The 2026 Joint Communique reaffirmed the REP as an important vehicle for business engagement and encouraged governments to progress a formal structure on growing two-way investment.
“These discussions aligned closely with Entura’s longstanding work in India,” said Dr Ashworth.
“As the nation progresses its decarbonisation goals, renewable energy and storage will play an increasingly important role in maintaining a stable, reliable and more sustainable electricity system. We are proud to contribute specialist expertise in renewables developed through many decades of asset-owner and consulting experience across Australia and throughout the Indo-Pacific region.”
For many years, Entura has supported government agencies, developers and funding organisations across a range of hydropower, pumped hydro and other renewable energy projects in India. Entura also maintains an office in New Delhi, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Entura’s registered training organisation, the Entura clean energy and water institute, has delivered training, exchange programs and capability-building initiatives including dam safety training for India’s Central Water Commission and programs supported by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, such as the South Asia Regional Infrastructure Connectivity initiative.
“Developing a skilled workforce is such an important part of the clean energy journey,” said Dr Ashworth. “We’re always proud to work with partners in India to share knowledge and build capability to develop, operate and maintain safe and sustainable power and water infrastructure.”
Dr Ashworth said that the Forum demonstrated a shared commitment to practical action.
“Prime Minister Modi urged Forum members and both delegations to turn ‘goodwill into groundwork’, ‘MOUs into milestones’, and to focus on real progress by investing, innovating and implementing.
“As both countries accelerate our clean energy ambitions, there are significant opportunities to collaborate, learn from one another and take action to build a more sustainable future for our region. Entura looks forward to continuing our participation in the joint working groups to help transform intentions into tangible outcomes.”
